Loved the location so peaseful, yet 10mins up the road a busy town. The best of both worlds.

It truly is a lovely place to stay and has a wonderful cafeteria style breakfast. When I was in a Westport shop, the owner told me about the lake. I found it to be beautiful, a relaxing walk after a full day of traveling.

The staff are very helpfull and very friendly too. The breakfast was of a high quality. The lounge area is very comfortable. The bedrooms are basic but clean and spacious, the shower we had was fantastic. Town is just a 5 minute walk away, either the direct route or the lovely scenic route by the clean lake (my 2 1/2 year old son loved feeding the ducks and swans here). We as a family enjoyed our long weekend here very much and would recommend it to small family's alike.

Located beside a small lake complete with swans - possible to have a walk on the lake shore. Pleasant staff.
It's more basic in style than I had anticipated - almost like a hostel. I'd recommend it (especially maybe for groups with children) but certainly not if you are seeking luxury

The rooms are spacious and clean. The shower is perfect. Breakfast was fantastic, with a great variety of products. We had to leave early (before 8am) but they still served us breakfast.
It's not really a negative thing, but the place is not in the city centre... However Castlebar is not too big, so a short walk would get you in town. Also, if you have a car, don't miss the chance to visit Westport (a very short 15 min drive) and the traditional irish music pub, "Matt Molloy".

Friendliness of staff at breakfast time and the quality of the breakfast. Ease of access to walk on Lough and to West of Ireland.
Very basic and the fact that we had to sign in before 6pm on day of arrival which meant we had a dash across Ireland.
